A Comparative Study

The history of the Jewish community in Krajno and Bodzentyn during the Nazi German occupation can be studied in part from the perspective of the diary of Dawid Rubinowicz. By selecting and focusing on particular themes from the diary and in showing how these had been endured and are still remembered by survivors, this comparative study aims to broaden our understanding of Dawid’s plight and to shed more light on details of the every-day life and hardships imposed on Jews.

The comparative study was prepared in 2010 and published by the Dawid Rubinowicz Society in a new Polish edition of the diary. This is a shortened edition adapted for the web. Click here to view the sources.
